Trip Description

A team of students will have opportunities to learn about and serve alongside holistic ministries in the Oaxaca area, speak Spanish, and build relationships. If you are interested in learning about Mexican culture and history, meeting people that work alongside indigenous people groups, serving others through speaking Spanish, encouraging our partners, and practicing holistic ministry, we encourage you to consider this trip.

Our Partners

Iglesia Evangelica Misionera del Pacto ?- Since 1946, Covenant mission work has led to the establishment of 57 Covenant congregations in three districts with 3,640 members. Missionaries focus on working together with the national church in evangelism and church planting, Christian formation and leadership training, and partnership in mission outreach.

Fuentes Libres?Fuentes Libres (Free Flowing Fountains) is a Covenant community development ministry in the southern state of Oaxaca. The development bank awards microloans to women who want to start small businesses. The loans usually range from $120-$150, and are repaid in 4 months. Not only are 99% of the loans repaid, but this sustainable ministry ends up touching the lives of families and communities, as women are empowered to use their gifts and talents.

Overview

Mexico is a country where affluence, extreme poverty, natural beauty and urban congestion all exist. Because Mexico is a major oil producer and exporter, a small percentage of the country is wealthy. However, most Mexicans live in poverty with neglected rural areas and shanty towns surrounding most cities.
