Urban Outreach Arms of Engagement

Urban Outreach has three arms of mobilization and engagement: For those involved in our presence programs, students further the mission of various organizations through volunteering and service. Through our policy programs, students are able to learn more about systemic challenges and how various organizations address them. Through our programming team, students learn to innovate and execute programs that serve the community while learning applicable skills.

Service initiatives place an emphasis on a ministry of presence in serving those in under resourced contexts. Students engage the urban context through relationship.

Innovative community development efforts produce social capital and value through programming. Students engage the urban context through the stewardship of resources.

Advocacy initiatives address structures and policies which undergird societal concerns and imbalances. Community organizing addresses issues from the grassroots level. Students engage the urban context through citizenship.
