Hope Ministries established an orphanage in Ndola, Zambia for children who have lost their parents because of the HIV/AIDS epidemic. Through the support of Spark Ventures, Hope now runs a school ad nutrition program for 300 children. Every year NPU hosts a medical clinic and reading program for the students. In addition to serving, we live and eat with host families, participate in church and go on a safari in Livingstone
Zambia has moved from being a major copper producer and potentially one of the continent's richest countries at independence in 1964 to one of the poorest. 63% of the Zambian people live on less than one dollar per day. At least one out of every seven Zambians is infected with HIV/AIDS, which means almost every family in Zambia is affected by the disease.
