GLOBAL PARTNERSHIPS TRIPS

This year North Park University is traveling to Chicago, Los Angeles, Washington D.C., Appalachia, India, Israel-Palestine, and Mexico during Spring Break and Alaska, Mexico, Zambia, Taiwan and Ecuador during summer break.  First rounds of applications for Global Partnership trips are due October 28th. 

Applications will remain open through November for trips that still have space.

Spring Break Trips


APPALACHIA

Date: March 9-17, 2014 
Location: Guyan Valley, W.Va.

THE TRIP

THE TRIP

Follow Jesus by washing feet.  Truthseekers is a Christ-centered reconciliation movement committed to spiritual and social freedom for India's oppressed.  Learn about the plight of the lower castes, the messages of Indian reformers and the contextualization of the Gospel.  Visit nearby villages taking part in the transforming foot-washing rallies. ALASKA

THE TRIP
Serve as a camp counselor at Covenant Bible Camp, just outside off Unalakleet, a small village on the Berring Sea. Campers (ages 9-25) from all over Alaska hear and often respond to the Gospel and experience a loving and safe family of believers who serve as staff.  We eat great food, go on adventures, and enjoy different camp activities. ECUADOR

THE TRIP

In Ecuador, we have an opportunity to learn about grassroots ministries that reach out to children, youth and the elderly in the cities of Montecristi and Quito. We serve by participating in youth ministry and scouts events, encouraging men in a drug and alcohol rehabilitation center,  sharing sermons and worship music with the local churches, and by tutoring at after-school programs in Quito.  APPLY HERE

THE TRIP

FFHM runs a children’s home in Tlacolula, 45 minutes from Oaxaca.  50 children, ages 1-22, receive food, clothing, education, and love.  North Park serves “behind the scenes” by cleaning, gardening, babysitting, tutoring, cooking and doing construction projects.  We will also run gym classes and a mini sports camp with the kids.  APPLY HERE


ZAMBIA

Date: May 13-29, 2014  
Location: Ndola, Zambia

THE TRIP

Hope Ministries established an orphanage in Ndola, Zambia for children who have lost their parents because of the HIV/AIDS epidemic.  Through the support of Spark Ventures, Hope now runs a school ad nutrition program for 300 children.  Every year NPU hosts a medical clinic and reading program for the students.  In addition to serving, we live and eat with host families, participate in church and go on a safari in Livingstone. APPLY HERE

 


TAIWAN

THE TRIP

The Covenant Church of Taiwan has over forty well-established congregations spread out along the west coast of the island. The churches are growing quickly and want to improve their outreach to youth.  A North Park ministry team will bring hip-hop, gospel music, drama and visual arts to engage youth with Christ. APPLY HERE
