Chapel: Dr. Jeanne Porter King

Dr. Jeanne Porter King is called to lead and to make a difference in the lives of others.  An ordained minister, she serves at Christ Community, along with her husband, Dr. Carl E. King, Sr. Here she heads the leadership and ministry development processes of the church, leads the Women’s Ministry Leadership Team, and shares preaching responsibility. “Dr J,” as she is affectionately called by the congregation is an inspiring speaker and gifted teacher; her messages are transformative, helping listeners unlock issues of identity, purpose and destiny.

Dr. J is a gifted teacher and in addition to teaching at Christ Community, she serves as adjunct professor in the Certificate for Executive Leadership Program at McCormick Theological Seminary and serves on the Advisory Board for Urban Ministries, Inc.  “Dr. J” also ministers in the marketplace as the founder and principal consultant of the TransPorter Consulting Group, whose purpose is to help create purposeful, transformative and empowering workplaces. “Dr J” is a seasoned organizational development consultant with over 25 years of consulting and training experience in a variety of industries including manufacturing, telecommunications, financial services, as well as with community groups, governmental agencies, churches and other faith-based institutions.  Through TransPorter she has been blessed to travel across the world training seasoned and aspiring leaders. Dr. Jeanne Porter King is the author of numerous books and articles on leadership and is committed to developing and coaching leaders for the kingdom.

Dr. Jeanne Porter King received both Bachelor and Master of Science degrees from The Ohio State University in Columbus, Ohio, the Master of Arts of Theological Studies (with an emphasis on spiritual formation and leadership) from McCormick Theological Seminary in Chicago and the Doctor of Philosophy in Organizational Communication from Ohio University in Athens, Ohio.
